Ritchey is best known for their line of lightweight cross-country racing components. Despite having carved out a niche at the top of the component market, Ritchey realizes that mountain biking continues to evolve away from the race course. To meet the needs of riders that spend their days on five inch travel machines, Ritchey has developed the WCS Trail Group.
Heading up the Trail Group is the WCS Trail Stem. The 3D Forged 2014 alloy WCS Trail Stem is designed for increased stiffness and strength at a respectable weight. The WCS Trail Stem features a stout shape and wide 40mm faceplate to achieve Ritchey's stiffness requirements. It also takes advantage of Ritchey’s patented C220 clamp design. A variant of the 260-degree clamp found on the cross-country specific WCS C260 stem, the design is intended to reduce flex and stress from the bolts and distribute the stresses it throughout the stem body. The WCS Trail Stem features a zero rise, weighs 115 grams and is available in 60 - 110mm lengths.
The WCS Trail Stem is complimented by the WCS Low Rizer Trail Bar – that comes in alloy with a 20mm rise – and a WCS Carbon Low Rizer Trail Bar with 15mm rise. The WCS Low Rizer Trail bars come in 740mm width – the widest bar in the Ritchey line. The theme of increased stiffness and strength is continued with alloy and carbon layups designed to handle the additional stresses of bigger hits and increased bar width.
Ritchey rounds out the Trail group with the WCS Link Trail and WCS Carbon FlexLogic Trail seat posts. The new Link Trail alloy post uses Ritchey's proprietary clamp system that allows compatibility with conventional round rails or Selle Italia’s Monolink (Adapter required). The FlexLogic utilizes a specific carbon layup that Ritchey developed for Scott, Stevens and Canyon ProTour bikes to provide 15-percent more compliance than other Ritchey carbon posts. Both the WCS Link Trail alloy and WCS Carbon FlexLogic Trail posts are available in 400mm lengths, and 27.2, 30.9, and 31.6mm diameters
